To the best of my recollection, a few weeks ago, our neighborhood where I have just moved in last year, organized a cultural exchange party and our family was invited. My parents want me to be exposed to global cultures so they decided to settle down here. There were many participants from all over the world there, all residents in my area. I sat next to Mr. Lee, who had a bright smile that captured my attention (gây chú ý).
He broke the ice by asking some questions about my name and basic information in English => My first impression is that this person is truly down-to-earth and kind-hearted => I also asked him where he came from and he told me that he was from USA, which was the country that I had a great desire for visiting one day.
He has lived in HN for at least half a year now and he has nurtured a great love for Vietnam. He chose Vietnam to spend his retirement. He shared with me different things about his culture, lifestyle in the United States and the vast differences between Vietnamese cultures and his =>Therefore, I could cultivate my sense of knowledge about Western cultures and a range of fascinating cultural information => this person was knowledgeable and energetic so talking to him completely brought me a sense of elation.
We talked continuously for like 2 – 3 hours and I truly appreciated my time spent with this foreigner/stranger/guy. It was also a great time for me to practice my English speaking skills.
